Star Potential with Chris Cole Harris
Creative Dramatics Ages 4 - 6
A fun introduction to theater arts for younger children. Students will use their favorite stories, fairy tales or comic strips to create their own Story Drama, while exploring the world of acting using their imagination and through interactive theater games. These dramatic exercises will help develop poise and self-confidence as students have fun working together as a group.
Our six-week sessions run throughout the school year. There is a class demonstration on the last day of each session.
This class uses theater games and exercises to teach the basics of acting to younger students through the vehicle of improvisation. Students are encouraged to use their imaginations as they learn to create characters, build scenes and invent whole worlds without ever using a costume, prop or set piece.
Students practice teamwork and listening skills to help them work as an ensemble and learn the discipline of performance. Improvisation for children is really re-learning how to play using the same spontaneity and collaboration they used as toddlers. However, instead of just having fun, students also build their self esteem, develop active listening and learn to work harmoniously & creatively with others. Our ultimate goal is to create believable and memorable characters, while making our fellow actors look good.
Our twelve-week sessions run throughout the school year. Sessions culminate in an exciting on-stage performance that friends and family are encouraged to attend.

Many dramatic arts programs focus solely on stage acting, leaving students unprepared and underconfident when facing the challenge of performing on camera. Our class bridges this knowledge gap by focusing the camera lens on our students every class period.
Through exercises and games, instructor and professional actor, Dave Pileggi guides students through the maze of movie and television terms as well as the technical aspects of on-camera acting.
As an accomplished professional actor, Dave knows what it takes to land jobs in TV, Film, Commercials and Industrials and this personal experience is shared with students to help them succeed as working actors. Along with gaining more confidence and ability in front of the camera, students will also benefit from Dave’s industry knowledge and will receive useful, practical advice on: how to better market themselves; how to prepare for auditions and camera tests; and how to obtain representation. This program is open to both experienced actors and newcomers.
Our twelve-week sessions run throughout the school year and accept a limited number of students so that we may provide them with maximum attention.
